on the rub part do this. get your meat cut out of the package and let it set while you build your fire. there will be enough surface moisture to stick the rub too when the fire is ready. on a marinade just put your frozen and the marinade into the reefer overnite. most marinades will only penetrate into the first half inch of meat anyway. if however you are going to pump your meat then of course it has to be thawed. the whole thing about frozen is just to match the smoke ring coming from a pellet smoker with that coming from an electric. you are only going to gain 1 to 1 1/2% getter yeild.

Thanks for the reply, I plan to smoke a Pork shoulder & some Ribs Friday. The shoulder will be Thawed but I want to try the the ribs frozen. Will let you all know how itturns out.
