spicy chicken drummettes

This is a good fast and easy recipe you can cook oh so many ways. Roasted on your grill, baked in the smoker, deep fried, and yes, even in the house's oven!

spicy chicken drummettes

ingredients
1/2 stick of margarine
1/2 cup Hot Sauce
1 package powdered ranch dressing mix
2 lbs chicken drummettes (I like boned breast's, drumsticks, and thigh's)
1 cup blue cheese dressing
celery stalks to accompany

preparation
Melt margarine in saucepan. Add 1/2 cup Hot Sauce.
Rinse and dry drummettes. Dip chicken in hot sauce mixture. Roll them in powdered Ranch dressing mix.
(Spread onto baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.)
Serve with celery and blue cheese dressing.

Rusty, to TB’s chagrin I’ve just returned from the store with the fixin’s for your Spicy Chicken Drummettes.

This’ll be fun; both the fixin’ and the eatin’. I wonder how many will actually make it to the finger-food party tonight? You gotta taste test these things.

We both checked our calendars, and even verified it with the host, who we saw at a funeral yesterday. So it’s on for tonight. I’m still recovering from that crawfish extraction we used the other night.

Instead of the oven, I’m thinking of planking these drummies on the grill, maybe with a little LS dropped on the vapor shields situated just over the gas flames. Get a little indirect heat and flavoring.

I had to use my drool rag a couple of times walking around in the store.

While I was there, I picked up some fixin’s for a pot roast in the crock pot, maybe for tomorrow. I gotta coordinate that with the little woman. She takes offense to be called a “lady,” even when none is given. She’s her own person; that’s what attracted me to her and keeps me chasin’ after her.

I likes it when she will say my name with a question mark; “Paddy?”

"Huh?"

“Catch me if you can old man!”

And she’s a might older that I am. Boy howdy.

I got my spine surgery scheduled for Oct 29. Watch out when I get back in the saddle, ready to chase the wind!

I feel my meds kickin’ in. Shaddy and I are going to find a little nap.

Rusty, coating with the dry ranch dressing and then dipping it in blue cheese dressing is a double wammy! Really sounds outstanding! Can't have that too often though!.... thanks

Has anyone tried the hot chinese oil instead of hot sauce in their recipe for hot wings? Was wondering if it was just plain too hot.

Daisy, that’s a very good question.

For me, the answer depends on who is going to eat the hot wings.

If the wings are just for myself, I can stand a little more heat. But if I’m makin’ ‘em for a crowd, I know to ratchet the heat down a bit and offer up various flavors of Tabasco on the side. That way, folk can design their own heat level and still enjoy the great taste of the wings.

I love to go to Popeye’s and place an order of hot and spicy wings with dirty rice on the side. Not too hot, but so flavorful and crispy fried. ‘Course, I pull out my little travel bottle of Tabasco and doctor ‘em up a bit, including the rice. This cowboy keeps his hot sauce in his saddle purse, and is seldom found without it.

I hope you will try fixing the hot wings in hot Chinese Chinese oil and report back to us. I’ve not done it and would like to hear what you think.
